While Waiting

"Advent: Waiting Here For You" series, part 3 of 4: Advent means "arrival." In the case of Christmas, it refers to the arrival of Jesus, God's greatest gift to the world. On a starry night, in the town of Bethlehem, in a cave where animals were kept, a Savior was born who would take away the sins of the world. But, Jesus didn't arrive without a wait. Four hundred years of silence spanned the gap between the final prophecies spoken in the Old Testament and the birth of Jesus. You can hear the questions that passed from generation to generation, can’t you? Where is God? Does he care? Has he forgotten us? Is faith a waste? All of us are waiting for something. And, in the silence of our own waiting, we wrestle with these very same questions. In the "Waiting Here for You" series, we journey together to discover the nearness of God during those times when we long for what is not fully in view.
