I was just thinking about that too: Clavinets were really popular -- but only for a few years, the window is actually kind of small, then they suddenly disappeared. It's a cool sounding instrument, esp. with effects on it, I wonder what happened? As far as the 70's go, the fact I am *still* discovering new things from the 70's that I love shows you what a rich time it was for all kinds of music... :) Also: thanks for all these great shows you do.
Thanks Johnny. I still prefer the fender rhodes over every other keyboard. Listen to the 3rd track on the first Classic Rhodes. Its called For Someone Special by the Doobies, man that is a stealthy and funky little tune. I want that to be my theme on a soundtrack. Lol
That's amazing -- there really is a clavinet hidden in "Life In The Fast Lane." I am in awe at the sensitivity of yer ears. Also: remember when all electronic keyboards had a "funky clav" setting? And it sounded nothing like the real thing? lol

I re-checked out that Doobies track: sweet. The shimmering Rhodes defintiely makes the song... it reminded me a bit of Traffic, too. Cheers... - J

Ha that's funny it's crazy how there were so many funky keyboards used by everyone in the 70's. That really was the best era for music in any genre.
