Tune in to this brand new podcast series that I am launching, where I will be paying tribute to the great bands in the history of music, as well as playing a selection of their greatest hits.
First up, I look at Nirvana, a band whose 5 years of astronomical success came to an abrupt end when its lead singer, Kurt Cobain, committed suicide in 1994. The band's iconic second album, Nevermind, has sold over 30 million copies to date, and Nirvana's two remaining members, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, have both been admitted to rock and roll's Hall of Fame.
In what is the truly remarkable story story to a remarkable band, I examine which songs defined Nirvana, as well as looking at their journey through the eyes of someone who grew up listening to them, even though Nevermind was released four years before I was born.
