Idyll Spring

Spring in DC is always a gamble, sometimes it gets warm too soon and other times like this year, winter hangs on and on. While I was putting together my set for Rhizome this Sunday (April 8) I thought I'd put together a mix of music I've been listening to that reminds me of the earlier harsher transition days of Spring over some pastoral all pleasant sounding mix of tracks.

There's some folk from Townes Van Zandt and John Martyn (there's a strong connection between outlaw country and the UK folk crew operating across the pond at the same time), there's plenty of 90's ambient ala Orb, Aphex Twin, etc. One track from Eric Flohr Reynolds and Skybison whom I'm playing with on Sunday, a new ambient track from me, and much much more.
