Voice Over IP has a potential for great cost savings realization for business, academia, and government alike. In traditional Plain Old Telephone System Lines, only a small number of providers were able to provide services to the many millions of people requesting service. Now, the same IT people who manage our network infrastructure can manage our telephone service, which means great savings for those who utilize Voice Over IP Technology. However, as in any advancing technology, security concerns must be considered. In this presentation, Stevens will discuss confidentiality, integrity, and availability concerns associated with VOIP by staging an attack in a real-life case study of Voice Over IP implementation.
