Thaps was born on 14 January 2001 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
His love for music and in particular drumming became evident at the age of 3.Thaps has played alongside some of South Africa's biggest artists such as MiCasa, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Lira, and Danny K.
In May 2020 Thaps released his first pop single 'Time Away' featuring Mahachii.
