Maria Solis is a Junior at Loyola studying Secondary Education and English. She grew up in Chicago and often finds herself compelled to write about current events, gang violence, racism, discrimination, and what it means to be Latina. Although Maria has always been an avid reader writing poetry is somewhat of a new passion of hers. Finding the time to write can be tricky for Maria, she tends to invest all her time and energy on different projects to keep herself constantly occupied. Before she turns 23 Maria wants to travel all over the US. Currently she’s got 5 states down, 45 to go.
