Raumstadt (German for Space City) is the current project of producer, musician and DJ, Brian Thomson. Originally from Glasgow, Brian now lives in Andreas where his self built home studio is based. Here, all the music is recorded, mixed and edited. Raumstadt’s music combines programming, synthesisers and samples with live instruments.
Brian started out playing guitar and bass in various bands in and around Glasgow but grew a healthy interest in electronic music after being influenced by the dance music of the 1990s and the sounds of 1980s synth bands like Depeche Mode , Human League and Kraftwerk. Influences for the project are wide and varied from the aforementioned bands through to Joy Division to Stone Roses and U.N.K.L.E
