THEY TALK was conducted in the Donnie Chin Community Room at Hirayabashi Place in the International District/Chinatown, Seattle on Aug 8 2017. The gathering of people interconnected in various ways, accumulated layers of ways in which peoples stories are heard, felt and expressed. Curator and moderator, Dåkot-ta Alcantara-Camacho created a platform for the voices of respected queer/two-spirit/transgender/mahu creatives/activists/academics and artists to tell their interwoven genealogies of relationship to their heritage, their values, their communion with others. THEY TALK was a space holding for these various activations to be liberated and were exemplified in the generosity, reciprocity and heartful offerings by all the guests.
