The Shield

Peter “Pluis” passed away, one of the first owners of the cafe Het Wapen van Hilversum.
(The Shield of Hilversum -NL).
A special place for me, have met a lot of nice and special people, of course, some were not, but in general, it was oke. House and parties were just introduced, the internet was coming to life, the “Summer of Love”, a lot happen in those days. The cafe was a place to drink and talk/discuss to friends, play pinball, and make music together. Many creatives visited this cool place.
Peter “Pluis” (“Fluff”) along with his mate Friso run this place. Both were music lovers and played lots of fine and special music, also “Piece of the Rock”, by Mother's Finest. Radio DJ Alfred Lagarde introduced it to the Netherlands, it became a hit. So my mix is an ode to those (early) days and nights with a 2022 re-mix of 2 of my early tracks. Used the Mother's Finest song from a 1978, LP.
Rough on the edges but with a golden Heart, having a good time.
