This show was 69th in the global electronica/dance chart.
I unearthed a mix I had previously forgotten about (recorded in 2011!), that sadly had lying unused in my hard drive. It had been years in the making when recorded and was a chance for me to become use my indie-rock background to a practical use. As I looked back at some of my old and recent favourites around the indie genre, I quickly began to see a tempo link to other pop, electronica and new wave records that I similarly loved. Like a virus, non-indie tracks began to overwhelm and outnumber the original indie-rock theme.
The theme of this labour love turned into anything over 130 BPM, slowly building up and twisting the use of the faster tempos throughout different eras but mostly pertaining to the golden-era indie of the mid 2000's. Now less bastardised as it was, and with an element of nostalgia spreading into the status quo, it felt right to share it again.
All recorded live (as always) on my then Numark Axis 9's and with an era of my life thrown in. I hope you enjoy it.
