Hi Alban! Wow! Tha's a marathon! Eheh! Glad to know you are enjoying this kind of latin rhythms. Johnny Colon is a very special musician. Boogaloo was a rhythmic style that emerged in the 60s. In addition to having a different sound and way of dancing, it also served as a channel for transmitting more urban messages, such as living conditions in neighborhoods and other social issues. Johnny Colon covered this style a lot but, in general, any artist active during that era produced songs in this style. I recommend Louie Ramirez (It's Not What You Say), George Guzman (Marilu), Joe Cuba (Bang Bang), The New Swing Sextet (Monkey See Monkey Doo) and, for a more recent sonic experience, Spanglish Fly (Brooklyn Boogaloo). Now you made me want to make a selection and a mix of Boogaloo! Eheh!
