Superb selection. The cover of Billy Paul's "East" is great and almost eclipses the original. "Tow Truck" is an incredible production listening for the first time to this in 20 years. Right up there with "Smokebelch" and "Haunted Dancehall" from the same LP. "Quiddity" i remember from an old Jose Padilla mix. As a result reminds me of the summer i spent in Ibiza in '95. "Protection" is a special track for me. And, as an aside, Aim (Andy Turner) is from my home town where I used to go to the basement parties he ran back in the early 90's. So lots going on for me in this set pal. My head is in bits :D

I feel compelled to comment as a lot of these tracks really resonate with me on many levels. I was heavily into trip hop in the mid-90's (had the Red Snapper LP on cassette would you believe!?), though they represent more than a wistful nostalgia. It was a period of polarising emotions and they are etched into those experiences. Many regrets, immovable. What if i had let go of resentment, made peace, acted differently? Where would i be today?
I had to take a break from all the house sets today and I'm really glad I did. You are a musical maestro, Hugo. You sure have an ear for music across multiple genres. Amazing opening track!! "Two Weeks" is chaotic, melodic and laced with sweet vocals. The oriental touch on the aptly named "East" was very sublime. I love the dark jazziness of "My Palestine Girl" The glitchy "Carwreck" was nuts. "In Deep" was a sweet tune, and kind of trippy. Chill Ambience on "1000 Years" and the sinister sounds on "Quiddity" will be on my "listen to during a heist" playlist ;) "Protection" because Massive Attack is awesome. These were my favorites. Terrific sounds on this one, Hugo.
