As a C64 user from the early 80s, this was very interesting. I'd like to add something about the pirating you talk about regarding the floppy discs. This was absolutely rampant already on cassettes, because all you had to do was use a regular double deck and copy them. A normal 90 minute cassette could be filled with 50 games in cracked versions.
