Tuesday of Easter

Today's Reading: Acts 13:26-33

Daily Lectionary: Exodus 15:19-16:12; Hebrews 10:1-18

We are certainly preaching the Gospel to you, the promise made to the Fathers, because God has fulfilled this promise for us their children, when He resurrected Jesus. (Acts 13:32-33)

He is risen indeed! Alleluia! In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. The Scriptures had to be fulfilled--not only because God's Word endures forever: always true, never wrong--but also more importantly, the Scriptures are fulfilled because the Lord made promises, and the Lord always keeps His promises. That's really what the Word is anyway--a record of the Lord's promises.

The promises were made to Adam and Eve, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to David--in fact, to all God's people. He promised to send a Seed who would crush the serpent's head (Genesis 3:15), a Seed in whom all peoples would be blessed (Genesis 12:3), a Seed who would always sit on the throne of David (2 Samuel 7:11).

Jesus is the "Yes" and "Amen" to all these
