Silk Music has always been a surety for high-quality melodic progressive house. The likes of Mango, Shingo Nakamura, Solarity or even the hosts of the very popular radio show Silk Royal Showcase themselves (Jacob Henry, Ad Brown, Zack Roth and Tom Fall) have participated in building up the vast empire around these lush and saturated vibes. I've collected their works since the very first release and haven't regretted supporting the steady output of gorgeous records. The next installment of the yearly compilations will see the light of day very soon and even the sub-labels Mango Alley and Silk Textures have prepared some exciting compilations and albums during the last few months. Let's revisit this fifth anniversary with fifty tracks put together in one 3-hour essential mix.

I happened to have a short tour by bike today - with well below zero degrees and a cloudless sky outside. With the mix on earphones, I quickly forgot how cold it actually was. Silk Music makes every day a pleasant one!

Great mix buddy! I consider the silk labels as some of my favourite labels out there but there was heaps of tunes in here I had never heard, so thanks for that. Definitely brightened up a rainy afternoon at work in Scotland!

I've planned a second edition of "Silk Essentials" which is much more influenced by releases on Silk Textures and such. As I made this one here, I pretty much thought the same as you! This needs a sequel with deeper tunes in it.
I'll keep you updated, since it won't be finished before May, I guess. It requires much more releases, for example the new compilation by BG&K that's out soon. Also I need some time to finish the Going South compilation, that one hopefully will meet your taste! ;)

Generally loving this mix! Gets a bit fluffy and vocal for my liking in bits though. Prefer the warmer or more techie tracks rather than the handbags and hands-in-the-air DJ Sammy type tracks ;)
