The fifth instalment of my Essentials Series is Dennis Huddleston's 36 project. These aren't intended to be a best-of per se, rather a curated collection of tracks from an artist's career that best reflect the tone of his/her musical voice and style of their records.
In this sampler we'll take a look at 12 tracks from across the 12 years of his discography, touching on most of his full-length releases to give a taste of his sonic style.
Well known for his regular and consistently quality output, Dennis' Ambient work has evolved from humble nostalgic beginnings into spacious cinematic scores, often touching futuristic and noir territories in its evocative synths and papery vocal fragments.
36's work has quickly fixed itself as a key part of the community and, through Dennis' hard work self-releasing his content, become a model of commitment to artistic integrity and devotion to the sound.
