So this is a strange one. I don't know why, but I feel compelled to put up my modest collection of defunct manchester band Valerie e.p.s for public consumption.
Valerie were a huge inspiration to me. They just got up on stage, no musical ability, all posturing and sloganeering and hilarity, and rocked. Their sets were brilliant, three petite ladies playing one note punk. And if you thought it was rubbish, it was a challenge for you to try to do better.
There was talk of a Valerie album at one point. I spoke to them, and they'd said they'd recorded one, but the tapes got lost, or deleted, or something. Then they were correctly accused of stealing a microphone from the venue. Another time, the set ended when drummer Elvis threw an entire cymbal stand at singer Jo's head.
1-4: valerie ep (switchflicker)
5-7: ep2 (self released. Tracks 5 and 7 also on 'Viva la Diva' 10", irrrk records)
8-12: disco punk ep (switchflicker)
13: Sealed with a loving flick compilation (switchflicker)

Hi Grilly, Jo here from Valerie. Thanks for putting this up it's the only place where all our songs are collected. I've stared doing some writing about Valerie at this blog http://cutupculture.wordpress.com/ and I've started linking to your Mix Cloud. Hope all is good xx
Brilliant and inspired, as it happens. Thank you.
