Soulish, Funkish Special(ish)

No.12 of The Bathtime Experiment on Shore Radio Edinburgh. Recorded live every Thursday night from 9-11pm. A second holiday special - in other words rushed and left to the last minute - of soul, funk, groove and beats . After a week away, one which contained sunshine, the mood brightened somewhat and I thought that should reflect in this weeks playlist.

From Zavallone to Monophonics, the longest track is delivered by the legendary composer Isaac Hayes, from Shaft! all 20 mins of Do your thing. Frank Zappa's track this week was co-written with George Duke and is in my mind a great example of Frank's social commentary. Loads more rarities and rediscovered surprises from my vinyl collection including the lounge/groovy sounds of Paolo Zavallone and his orchestra from a Bosworth music library double album I had forgotten about.

Side effects may include dancing, rhythmic leg and shoulder movement, nodding and air drumming.
