Playing tracks by
Kinski & The Acid Mothers Temple, Dean McPhee, Mark Mcguire , Dustin Wong, Papa M and more.
I started off with one of the most relaxing tracks I own, a collaboration between Kinski and the Acid Mothers Temple that was released on Sub Pop as a limited edition a few years ago. Hopefully it will be an unheard gem for some listenters. The next four tracks are by experimental guitarists that I've been listening to recently. From Dean McPhee's lonesome blues-folk sound to Dustin Wong's hyperactive loops, they each demostrate a unique approach to guitar that I admire. The next two are both from the Olde English Spelling Bee label that I've been somewhat obsessed with lately, and I deliberately chose two tracks that highlight how eclectic the label is. Next I added some tracks by bands that share a similar lo-fi aesthetic. They all sound like they've been recorded on an old 4-track in a basement and that just lends itself perfectly to listening on vinyl and getting nostalgic. My favourite pastime. Finally I ended the mix with the live version of a Mogwai classic.
