Perception vs Reality

This isn't me- but it could be. He looks pissed- probably because he is missing dinner because someone is worried about the neighbor destroying the tranquility of suburbia.

I spent a significant portion of my early post college years as a professional firefighter in two major metropolitan cities. I learned quickly that perception versus reality was a psychological phenomena that virtually all firefighters depend on regularly.I remember in one instance a woman had called 911 because she was concerned about her neighbor painting his car in his garage - it produced fumes. We went to investigate and her neighbor was indeed painting his car in his garage but he was using non-commercial paint and he was on private property- and frankly he was doing something that most of us had done ourselves in the recent past.  We told her that we didn't think it would be a huge problem and that fumes were less than harmful when in the open air.
