In this installment of FFS, I focus on the rise of racism and violence against the Asian community in the United States. I bring you voices of the AAPI community as well as allies who share their experience and perspective on the situation. Voices include, Trevor Noah, a New York City pastor, a young woman from Brooklyn who is a comedy writer of Korean heritage, among others.
Is this racism, violence and "othering" new to the Asian community? No. The United States has a long history of treating people of Asian heritage in America with disrespect, violence, and internment. The voices are interspersed with the weekly assortment of funky, soulful music to complete the story. You will also be given a few ways you can make a difference.
