This week's mix shines a spotlight (although not exclusively) on a number of Dublin-based singers and bands that are making waves.
They include Lorcán Mac Mathúna (with Martin Tourish, Seán Mac Erlaine, Eoghan Neff and Flaithrí Neff), Preab Meadar, Liam ó Maonlaí, Daoiri Farrell, Skipper's Alley, Slow Moving Clouds, Ye Vagabonds and Landless. I have Radie Peat of Lynched to thank for introducing the final two in that list who are completely new to me. It goes without saying that Lynched are included as they pretty much inspired this mix after a stunning set last night at Sidmouth FolkWeek - I'm still floating from it.
Also included are the innovative Ensemble Ériu who hail from County Clare and Teyr who are London-based but heavily influenced by Irish, Scottish, English and Cornish musicians who've come before.
There are some classics in there as well.
