Flotation Device honors the 50th anniversaries of key minimalist works by Philip Glass and Terry Riley, contrasting them with a more contemporary minimalist work by Norbert Möslang. We also preview a new trio album by Ingrid Laubrock, Susan Alcorn & Leila Bordreuil, and fresh dark ambient tracks from Seattle’s K. Leimer & Nairobi’s KMRU. Meanwhile, John Oliver prepares a piano while Janet Feder does the same to a guitar. Sylvie Courvoisier & Mark Feldman play a duet, Marshall Trammell & Megan Ihnen perform solo, and The House of Bedlam performs a Britannic pastiche by US expat Amber Priestley.
