Human corpses sprout into flowers of flesh and blood; a city is melted and regurgitated by forces both natural and man-made; artistic movement is warfare and beauty a weapon-- the following psychedelic soundscape is inspired by Hiron Ennes' novel containing all these themes: 'The Works of Vermin'. Spreading across the classical sounds of baroque, minimalism, and romanticism, this mix also incorporates film scoring and ambient music, often dipping into horror at times before emerging back up into playfulness or sorrow. Each sound & song is inspired directly by musical and aural descriptions of scenes, while the final track is purely my interpretation, forming an ouroboros of the grotesqueries and hopes of this novel. The beautiful cover art was created by Shura Zeryck, also inspired by imagery 'The Works of Vermin' beamed into their imagination. The best art begets more art.
