This is a compilation of the music which has carried me through my first few years of parenthood. These songs have brought calmness, given me the space to zone out, lulled my children to sleep, lulled me to sleep. Listening back to these sounds, they conjure up the image of sunshine creeping through our kitchen windows as the sun rises to start a new day with a newborn just falling back to sleep after needing comfort in the dark of night. The mix is accompanied by a conversation at the dinner table where our (at the time of recording) three year old is telling us of a dream he had the night before. The track artwork is a picture taken in the stairwell at the mater hospital, dublin, on the day our daughter was born.

What a lovely mix. What a great story. What an amazing cover. As a parent who has witnessed many a sunrise after holding the little one all night, I empathise greatly with every word and every sound.
