The story behind this mix is that I was asked to play for GM at the Auto Show in Detroit. They asked me to submit a demo, and they had just announced the Chevy Volt, so naturally I put together a Chevy-Volt themed mix for the demo. I went with trendy, popular songs at the time, and edited out any curses or bad language. For the kids. I put a track in the middle of the mix with a breakdown here a woman says, “The dead will rise again tonight” and it was an homage to the documentary, “Who Killed The Electric Car?” I never heard back from the representatives at GM and they ended up hiring someone else. But I distinctly remember seeing tweets about how terrible the DJ was in the GM display at the Auto Show. Oh well. This mix actually turned out great though. It’s catchy, but bangin. The transitions are smooth, and I don’t fuck around too much with the effects. At least I have that.
