Renaissance Roots

An ode to three motherlands...

This mix is a musical homecoming. I began my DJ career spinning mainly hip hop, soul, and funk. Lately though, the spirit music of the Diaspora is increasingly calling me, specially that of the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Haiti. My parents were born in the Dominican Republic but all three nations are my spiritual homelands. I see myself as part of a musical community that is forging a sound that is equal parts cultural roots and New York State of Mind.
