Playlist

What's on your playlist right now? I go through a lot of new music, so usually I have my shows or mixes coming through the speakers if it's not scanning through new music. I did put the Bad Seed's latest albums on and enjoyed those. What are y'all feelin' right now though? Anything I've spun or haven't spun on the show?

It seems everyone is jumping in on the "hip hop turns 50" bandwagon, doing shows or tributes etc. I tend to shy away from those sort of things, like when someone passes away and does a tribute show or set to the artist. I can't shake the mind frame of being different. If everyone else is doing it, why would I want to as well? I will play a track or two and acknowledge it, but unfortunately people are passing away all the time now as we get older.

Here in Ottawa our b-boy crew turns 40 this year and there's a nice exhibit being put together in their honour and Ottawa's hip hop scene in general. I'm in discussions to contribute to it and think it's important as it hits close to home, because it is.
