This was my first event as part of Groovereactor besides a couple of house parties. What a fun event! Unfortunately, no one was there to witness it.

We found this old bingo hall on the west side of Dayton. There were only 1-2 houses around (directly across the street). We promoted it as a virgin venue and later learned that Heather Heart played there years before.

This was the first time I saw Venom, and I got to spend time with him from airport pick up in Cincinnati to drop off at 5:00 or 6:00 AM. If I remember, he hung out with us all night and never returned to the hotel. Super cool dude. Gave me a couple of unreleased records at the time. I still have them.

Looking back, this was a poorly timed event. Revolution 2 (a massive) was the following weekend in Dayton with a killer lineup, and we learned it was just too hard to justify back to back $30-40 events.

We lost our ass, but we had a great time, and that’s all that matters. I still have the sets recorded somewhere. Somebody check the info line to see if it works!
