Soft rock emerged in the late 60s as a blend of singer-songwriter and pop rock. It peaked in popularity on the radio in the 70s and eventually evolved into many strange 80s things: adult contemporary, power ballads, and our beloved yacht rock. From Christopher Cross to Linda Ronstadt to Hall & Oates, these are my favorite songs I like to play for boomers when they feel like yearning.
