Love that Fantastic Four track!

Discovering Motown

Thanks! I was very pleased when I played the three songs I'd been sent, I think they're a quality selection.

That Bobby Taylor is choice!!!!!

Discovering Motown

I liked it because it seemed very different from the usual proto-Philly sound on most Bobby/Vancouvers cuts - it's a side of him that often only came out in his writing for other people, so to hear him loosen it out was a rare treat.

Loved that Fantastic Four song - great choice of track

Discovering Motown

Thanks John. I can't take credit for the choice: the guys at Ace/Kent (very kindly) provided me with three songs of their own choosing - I didn't get to pick! :)

The Miracles track is ace - it reminds me of a few different Smokey songs.

Motown today forever and always, thank you

Thanks for listening!

Discovering Motown

This should really have gone up as Episode 47, but I wanted to get the brand new tracks (Smokey & the Miracles, Bobby Taylor, Fantastic Four) up quickly, so I'm going out of sequence!

The compilation "Satisfaction is Guaranteed: Motown Guys", featuring all new material from the 60s and 70s, is out at the end of October in the UK and November in the USA. Big thanks to everyone at Ace/Kent records for the tracks!
