Breaks & D Project

Another old mix of mine where I was experimenting with major tempo changes and using part pre recorded, re-edits of songs to give a unique take on some of the transitions.

Part of the experiment was to record the set in parts where I could use multiple channels to record selected pieces of a song into a dubbed remix via loops and cues. Obviously this could be done in Ableton easily but I just wanted to keep the traditional style of Djing at the heart of the mix. This caused so many issues as you will hear during the mix.

The idea was to start out funky and end heavy and the whole project was kinda directed at those clubs with those dark corner 'other' rooms where the freaks come out to play. Which is pretty much me all over.

This set was recorded on a few different systems, one of which had some major issues with sound hence the reason I've never put it out there till now.

Recorded on;
CDJ -1000's with a DJM-800
Traktor DDJ-T1 + Traktor 2
DDJ-SZ + Serato
