Consciousness ascribes a oneness to experience, it manifests in thought, feeling and senses as a combined space. There are certain cracks that can appear at points, thin veneers at transition points.
One of these points is the transition between what you feel in your personal everyday existence and how you perceive the society you are a part of to exist. These points are often held tightly shut by the dominant power structure placing downward force onto the subjugated elements of the structure. The oppressed are able to see these points but are unable to open them or change them whilst under oppression, those applying the force the powerful are unable to see these transition points, power blinds them.
If you are unable to see a point of oppression someone is talking about it is highly likely you are on the side of the powerful. Has society conflated power with greatness? Power as the mimicry of greatness.

To all appearances the artist acts like a mediumistic being who, from the labyrinth beyond time and space, seeks his way out to a clearing. If we give the attributes of a medium to the artist, we must then deny him the state of consciousness on the aesthetic plane about what he is doing or why he is doing it.
