I'm loving this new/no-wave and punk discussion 'cause I shop and browse at the very places the co-host is talking about (In Your Ear) and remember Nuggets on Boylston St.? Stereo Jack's? Ahhhhh ya those are the spots to dig. And agreed about the "first punk record" question - a deceptively simple pitch but is in fact a loaded question for me if you are looking back to the '60s proto-punk etc etc etc. loved this segment.
Amazing! Thanks for the thoughtful comment. Jim, my co-host here, will return soon for more post-punk chatter. :)
