Chart positions

This upload was 42nd in the #progressive chart and 47th in the #deep chart.

An extended set for August, inspired largely by a restorative few days in Rhodes where I came across a DJ called Loukas Toumpakis who played a nightly set of beguiling, snaking, trance flecked house which really hit the spot with a bottle of cold Debina. And so it is that the 2hr set assembled here is largely inspired by much of the music I heard during those heady evening sessions as well as other tracks which I feel fit the profile. One such track, Cosmic Clouds by El Sonido Project, who themselves hail from Athens, is also available as a free download from their soundcloud page so head over and give them some support. It was a revelation to discover this track being played by one of their countrymen in Rhodes and even more so to discover it was unsigned!

Chris Sharp

Superb session mate. Loved the whole vibe from the depth of the Larry Heard-esque 'Everyday Mysticism', through the power of 'Snakes and 'Pulsar', to the deep swing of 'Give Me Five. 'Cosmic Clouds' has a real gentle quality, a lovely production and vocal - beguiling indeed. The old school flutey bounce of 'Full Moon Rhythm' really caught my attention though. It's been on solid rotation since - a massive standout in a set of consistent quality.

Thanks so much for taking the time Chris, sorry it's been such a delayed response. I hope you're keeping well, Full Moon Rhythm is a bit special isn't it, can't beat some jazz flute ;)

The Ross from Friends opener brings something extra to the genre we know as house music, the nuanced dimensions in the track are truly standout. Real solid melodic definition coming through in the Maricopa track too. Strong and bright electronic soul from Rick Wade, really helps to shape the direction of the1st half. For me, the Lonely planet track builds nicely in, underpinned by a real sense of determination. The instantly evocative slab of exotic melancholy that is delivered by the 'Snakes' track by Akayan, rightfully deserves it place in the running order...
