Another Splintered instalment, a smorgasbord of punky and post-punky shards interspersed with some textured angular scrapes, dubby incisions, atonal noise, jangly and afro inflected effervescence and the odd electronic squeal and thump. All kinda sounds, brand new and more matured, stitched together and coming apart at the seams. Always featuring some obscure historical Scottish noisemakers twixt the melange.

Who is this?!? Woah!
Sorry, seem to have totally oblivious to these comments. This is Bratakus and the track is Hypocritical. They are two sisters from the north of Scotland and have a second album due out imminently which this track will be on. They were brought up ensconced in DIY culture - their dad was in multiple hardcore/d-beat bands in Glasgow! Sedition and Scatha probably the most well known. Bratakus are much more nuanced, they have a healthy riot girrl influence to go with those diy punk roots.
