Exploring the blip of a genre that was Belgian New Beat (1988-89), a style of goth rave originally created by mixing the bass and synth of German electro body music with the TB-303 and effects of UK acid house, and then slowed down to 90-110 bpm. We start with the early ‘81 imports that influenced the scene and compare/contrast the Belgians with the UK ravers of the time.
