January 31, 2022 happened to be Philip Glass's 85th birthday, so here you go. The last composer to have mainstream pop culture success, it would be remiss not to celebrate Glass's long life. Some early, pre-"minimalist" works which prove he could write "normal" music, some highlights from the breakout Einstein on the Beach (1975) and the soundtracks to North Star (1977) and Koyaanisqatsi (1982), a medley of some dubious early '80s forays into the pop music world, and what may be his finest work for symphony orchestra, his first violin concerto from 1987, rendered here by Gidon Kremer.

Any show with music played by Gidon Kremer is worth a listen. Even if a small part of the show. Nice review of Glass.
