Flower wreaths, dancing and a sun that never sets.
One of the most characteristic and beloved Swedish traditions of all is Midsummer. It's the longest day of the year, when the sky never darkens. Legend has it that the longest day of the year is a magical time for love.
Depending on where you are in Sweden, it ranges from a dim glow in the south to full on daylight in the north. In Stockholm, where I live, it is a magical dusky twilight that conjures up associations of witchcraft, druids and paganism.
