First of 2020... and a good'un. Went back through six months of German digging and some trips to the 'Dam to pull this together. Banging break material from Blue Mitchell kicks us off, a bargain bin find in a Donovan cracker, then we hit some Dee Felice Trio jazz pressure (Mr Brown on drums we hear). Cornerstone of guitar'n'drum break Deutsch-style Volker Kriegel up next, then the bass-meister Miroslav Vituos with a chugger. Oscar Brown Jnr's version excursion of Afro Blue slows it down, then a brace of funk bangers from Café and Gonzalez. Charlie Rouse and The Awakening go deep jazzside before we up it back to fazzjunkdisco with Locksmith, an afro banger from Robin Kenyatta and then (RIP) a Robin Jones afrojazz fry up with El Maja. Eric Kloss and a nice anthem version from Brian & Julie round off the usual 15 tracks. 2020 let's ave it
