With new work journeys taking me to Deutchsland, new digging opps are abound... what with the mighty MPS label amongst others proffering some big tunes, hopefully I'll sniff em out. So a distinctly German and neighbouring countries (jazz) theme then this week, with tunes dug there, recorded there and 'near' there too... Perry Robinson 4 kicks us off, then Klaus Weiss and Mr Herbolzheimer pave the way for a massive version of People Make The World Go Round by Monty Alexander. Weiss is back again in a funk hat, then Daisy's Beigel Toasts get down. Wouldn't be a German/Austria selection without the mighty Kruder & Dorfmeister. Then a Monty A version excursion (Chameleon), before Tosca/Chocolate Elvis rocks it. An ambiguous inclusion next with 'Fritz' The Cat (!), then we go jazziness with Heikki & Carola Sarmanto and Sail Joia. A German €1 copy find of Cerrone Rocket In The Pocket Live takes us toward the end, with Stuff and of course rounding of is Mr Herbolzheimer. Jazz - nice
