LouSnx was confused when he first came across the appropriation of the name "Afrobeat" for the modern west African electronic genre "Afrobeats", which seemingly appeared to just be african dancehall. However this is the watered down mainstream "Afrobeats". Digging deeper there is a distinctive afro=infused style of electronic music, which suits the term "afrobeats" slightly better, but there is much more accurate name I'm coining right here:
