A reading for Art's Birthday 2024
This recording was made on 17th January 2024 using the following technical means:
- An AppleScript reading a text file using text to speech on MacOS. The script assigns a random voice to read each word in the text.
- An old Android smartphone, fitted with a stereo microphone plugged into the headphone jack. The smartphone was laid on the keyboard of the computer, with the microphone aimed towards the speakers.
The text being read is the English translation of L'Arte Dei Rumori - Manifesto Futurista (The Art of Noises - Futurist Manifesto) by Luigi Russolo, published in 1913.
