In October of 1996, my roommates (pictured) and I decided to drink several 40s and make the world’s greatest mixtape. I don’t know if we succeeded, but we did make a really fun time capsule. The tape itself is long gone, but I’ve recreated it here with low bitrate youtube rips (to really capture that 21 year old cassette vibe).
So enjoy the meager record collection of some rural/suburban Oklahoma ravers at a certain stage of their lives who just happened to be around for and tuned in to the burgeoning of electronic music in the late 90s, as our 80s childhood favorites gave way to Warp Records, Detroit Techno, and Drum & Bass.
