I may still be discovering great music from 1967 with the benefit of more than 40 years of hindsight, but that doesn't mean we can't look back at the year that is still in the process of drawing to a blustery close. Listen to this and you will hopefully do so with a sense of wonder at the delights on offer, some of which you may have heard, some you may not.
This volume is the first of what is likely to be a number pushing the boundaries of several. It is a pretty neat representation of what has been stroking my ears over the past 11 months or so, and naturally represents what I believe is some of the best music that has been released this year. That said, I'm not keen on using the word 'best' as that suggests it is superior to, let's say, Adele. I don't actually know if it is better. Who can make that call? Either way, it is certainly favoured by me. I'll let you decide for yourself.
Don't forget to check back here for Vol 2 in a week or so.
