A Fantastic and wonderful mix Chris.
Thank you Keith!
Quality Sir - a perfect invocation of warming radio valves, coal fires, lamp lighters, Local Bobbies, children waiting for father to finish with the paper so they can pour over the 'funnies' , rag and bone men on the streets and football terraces rammed with men in suits and caps....
Thank you Melmoth!
Even though there was the awful Nazi threat hovering over Britains heads, there was just something so warm and cozy about this era. And even though most of the menfolk were away or kids were sent away to other parts of the country, there was still a strong sense of family sticking together through thick and thin. The sounds, music, the way peopl dressed or the way things looked. I'd love to go back to this time.
It is a lovely little book and an exciting insight into life at the time. Thanks SCR!
