Hey Charles I swear by virtual Dj, the tutorials or very clear and easy to understand for 'newbs' it has a very simple version you can start with and you can progress to the more 'pro' versions as you learn. loads of fun once you get comfortable with it. it sounds like you may just want to lay out tracks in a particular order and not worry about segueing tunes. you may want to try out basic roxio too. you can arrange tracks in any order, put them in a folder and upload to mixcloud with relative ease. hope this helps rg
An impressive sonic assault! I am also learning to use Audacity to edit my shows, having previously used SoundForge at the studio. Online vids do help but it's a case of practice makes perfect (or near perfect)! Best, Simon

Try searching YouTube for demo videos on how to slide the tracks around or cut and paste them in a spread-out fashion. My preference is to first put all the songs in the desired sequence into one Audacity track: _ [song1][song2][song3] . . . . Then I adjust all the tracks to the same volume, raising and lowering the dB level of each as needed (YouTube it or find the Audacity help page). From there, all you need is a second Audacity track to slide the songs around for your ideal mix: Aud#1: [song1]___ [song3]___ [song5] Aud#2: ___ [song2]___ [song4]____[song6] . . . . this is helpful, i keep getting videos people creating new tracks, not simply dropping songs in your explanation i think the solution lies what key word should i search or a specific video of the process would be perfect. Thank you SO much!

You should be able to see the pages for your specific version through the Audacity [Help]>[Quick Help] selection. I recommend browsing through all the pages and absorbing that which applies to what you're trying to do. . file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Audacity/help/manual/man/tools_toolbar.html (just cancel the login prompts when they appear) This link shows all available tools, but I mainly use the [Selection] and [Time Shift buttons]. Only one tool can be selected at a time so you'll toggle between them. The Time Shift button allows you to click and drag each track around without needing to select them. If something unwanted happens, remember the [Edit]>[Undo...] button is your friend (Ctrl+Z). . No it was hand picked, said it was like four and half minutes, wat i think happened is they got laid on top of each other, rather than side by side, not using the tools in front of me, a total newb, i had virtual dj recommended to me, gonna try it. remember making mix tapes, it shouldn't be any harder than that.
I got audacity and am trying to learn who to compile songs into a setlist. 2nd time i tried to do multiple tracks ended up with only 1. Badly need someone to walk me through how to do this, seems like it is oriented around producing songs, but I am certain it will work for stacking songs into a playlist, I learn a bit when I mess with it, maybe I can learn on my own don't hold your breath though.

Charles: I'm not sure which platform you're using, but I have a Mac and compile all my shows in Garageband. Perhaps there's a version for PC?
