In the future, wealthy music industry magnates reign over the city of Electropolis from colossal skyscrapers, while underground-music producers toil to operate the great machines that power it. The city master's son, Freder, idles away his time on a synthesizer in a garden studio. He is interrupted by the arrival of a young promoter named Maria, who has brought a group of underground DJ's to witness the lifestyle of their rich "brothers". Freder becomes fascinated by her and goes to the lower levels to find her. In the machine halls, he witnesses a rave with electro music he never thought was possible to produce....
