BTTB X-211: Bonobo @bonobo

When I visited the UK I always went to London plus one more city, usually Bristol or Brighton. In Brighton I had good contacts to many musicians and labels, and one of these labels is Tru Thoughts @truthoughts . In a series of three mixes I wanted to present this label which was founded in 1999 by Rob Luis and Paul Jonas. So they sent me three mixes by founder Rob Luis and artists Jon Kennedy and Bonobo. Bonobo just had released his first album "Animal Magic" and I think when I aired this mix in January 2002 he already had signed a new contract with Ninja Tune. Now he is known for his amazing concerts, and when you are lucky, you also saw him spinning some records after one of the concerts. He is amazing. And this is what he sounded like at an early stage of his career.
